SAJDAK, THOMAS A. passed away on August 21, 2026, age 81 years from a heart attack.  Tom was born September 13, 1944, in Bay City, MI, to the late Alexander and Doris Sajdak.  He was the beloved husband of Diane (Wackerle) Sajdak whom he married on May 29, 1965.  Together they shared 61 years of marriage building a life filled with family, hard work, love, and countless memories.  Tom was a hardworking, hands-on man who could fix anything.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968 then started his long career at General Motors.  After he retired, he quickly realized retirement wasn't for him so he went to work at Sunrise Towing where he continued what he loved - working with his hands and staying busy.  He also helped many of the local farmers with their fall harvest of beets by driving the trucks from the field to the factory.  He and Diane spent many winters in Florida where they created several cherished friendships that are strong to this day.  Tom was an avid NASCAR fan and loved anything with an engine.  He was mechanically inclined and could often be found fixing, building, or tinkering with something.  He especially enjoyed carpentry and took great pride in making furniture for his family.  He also loved guns, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids at the local car races and walking in the woods, camping, and playing yard games.
He is survived by his wife Diane (Wackerle) Sajdak; daughters, Holly (Brian) Nickless, Amber (Patrick) Auch; grandchildren, Josh (Emma) Cole, Logan, Lexie and Adrienna; brother, Bernie (Joan) Sajdak; sisters, Barb (Jim) Davison, Betty (Richard) Ford; In-laws, Robert Suchy, Rhonda (Robert) Knochel; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by Diane's parents Ronald and Kathryn Wackerle; a son Wade Sajdak; grandson Karter Auch; sister-in-law Shelly Suchy; nephew Chris Sajdak, and niece Jodi Davison.
The funeral service took place Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Rivertown Funeral Chapel, 7:00 pm, with Fr. Bok presiding with a private inurnment at St. Anne Cemetery.
