NORGAN, Clayton A. "Sonny", passed away in Bay City, MI on September 4, 2024, age 79 years. He was surrounded in love and prayer by his family. Sonny was born June 1, 1945 in Bay City. Sonny is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judith A. (Judy) Norgan; son Michael (Marcelle) Norgan and his two daughters, Lynette (Robert) Norgan-Curtiss, and Jill (Miguel) Norgan-Prieto; his grandchildren, Megan (Norgan) Miles, Marlaina (Danny) Day, Danielle Prieto, Joshua (Cassandra) Preito, Nathan Curtiss, and Jocelyn Curtiss; and his great-grandchildren, Jacob Allen, Oliver, Taylor, and Liam Prieto, and Murphy Day. His sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Jo (William) Derocher, Michael (Bridget) Morin, Jan Morin, Patrick Morin (Wendy), Michele (Michael) Vanden Brooks, several nieces and nephews, and friends too numerous to list. He was predeceased by his father, Clayton Norgan, mother, Frieda (Bowden) Norgan, sister Beverly (Norgan) Havercamp, and mother and father-in-law Erwin and Patricia Morin.
Sonny enjoyed traveling with Judy, golfing, hunting, fishing, watching sporting events, and a good Manhattan for "Happy Hour". He was a plumbing and heating contractor in the Bay County community for over 60 years, most recently working with his son under the name Phillips and Norgan Plumbing and Heating. Sonny played on the Americans Semi-Pro Hockey Team from 1966 to 1970 and was inducted into the Bay County Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
In honoring Sonny's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no funeral services. A family memorial service is planned. Donations may be made on his behalf to the Bay County Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 121, Essexville, MI 48732. Please note Clayton Norgan on your check.
