Wendy Gougeon (Laudermilch)

Wendy Lou Laudermilch (Gougeon), died September 8, 2013, Traverse City, MI, age 68 years.  She was born on September 3, 1945 in Bay City, MI, to the late Franklin and Jeanne (Goold) Gougeon.  She married the love of her life, Donald M. Laudermilch on August 23, 1975 in Wixom, MI.  He predeceased her on February 10, 2009.  She is survived by one daughter, Dannielle (Doug) Higgins, two sons by marriage, Norman and David Laudermilch; a sister, Karin Gougeon; a brother, Brad (Karen) Gougeon; and four grandsons, Brett, David, Ryan and Johan.  Wendy and Don raised their children on Penny Lake in Walled Lake, MI and also had property in Luther, MI where they spent holidays  and vacations.  She was an avid English horseback rider and also loved gardening, cross country skiing and going "muxing".  Wendy and Don moved up to Traverse City when Don retired in 1989 and they started their adventures with motor homes shortly thereafter.  Wendy loved to travel and they spent many summers in the RV travelling to every state in the U.S. and all the provinces in Canada; as well as trips to Europe, China and Ireland.  She was also a woman of strong faith and a member of Central United Methodist Church.  She was inspirational, brave, feisty, playful, daring and fiercely loved everyone whom she chose as her own.  Funeral services were held at Grand Traverse Yacht Club on September 29, 2013.
