GIES, Wanda J. (Getyina), passed away December 29, 2019 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 74 years.  She was born February 26, 1945 in Bay City, MI to the late Elmer and Roseanna (Moore) Getyina.  Wanda graduated from T.L. Handy High School in 1963 and was a former member of T.L. Handy Pride.  On January 26, 1965, she married James Gies at Zion Lutheran Church in Bay City.  Together they spent 43 years until he passed away on September 10, 2008.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, playing Bingo and spending time with her grandsons, nieces and nephews.  Wanda is survived by her sons, James, Jr. and William Gies; grandsons, Aaron and Jared Gies, sisters and brother, Sandy Odell, Rose (Dennis) Todd, Marty (Julie) Getyina and Val (Larry) Rocheleau, brother and sister-in-law, Don (Willie) Gies and Charles Gies, brother, Elmer Getyina, Jr. sister Liz Stagray, brother-in-law Bart Odell, nephew Donnie Gies, father and mother-in-law William and Laura Gies.
