Donald Thomas Draves, 70, of Troutman, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. He was born on February 13, 1945 in Bay City, MI, to the late Donald Richard and Anne Florence Stanolis Draves. Mr. Draves was retired from General Motors and attended Davidson United Methodist Church. He was an Eagle Scout along with both his grandsons, where he attended both their Eagle Scout Ceremonies. Don was a life guard, on a swim team, was an avid bowler and enjoyed camping. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Draves. Mr. Draves is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon Londo Draves; children, Lori Beth Golsch and husband, Bryan, Donald T. Draves, Jr. and wife, Kelly; sister Judith Zanotti and husband, Phil; brother, Dennis Draves and wife, Jenny; sister-in-law, Nancy Draves; grandchildren, Justin, Hannah, Jacob, Blake, Alexys, Samuel and Gabriel; great grandchildren, Devin, Brystal, Falyn; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life was held at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel on January 2. Memorials were made to Parkinson Association of the Carolinas, 5970 Fairview Road, Suite 217, Charlotte, NC 28210.
