Janet Jean Faustin (Bates), age 71, of Essexville, MI passed away peacefully, Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at McLaren Bay Region, after a long battle with breast cancer and rheumatoid arthritis.  She was born in Bay City on August 11, 1945, the daughter of the late Raymond and Estelle Bates.  Janet was an active member of the First Pentecostal Church, where she played organ, piano and accordion during many church services.  Surviving family include her three children, Janette (Duane) Rossmann, Jerry Ray (Elizabeth) Faustin and Jeanie (Wade) Faustin; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Rachel, Madison, Timothy and Emma; also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Sharon Kay Bates and Sharon Rose Bates; a special friend and caregiver, Nancy Lambert and many nieces, nephews and friends.  Janet was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard and Gerald Bates; birth mother Genevieve Bates and the father of her children, Jerome Faustin.
