Gene Ayotte

Gene Howard Ayotte, age 71, was born on April 2, 1946, and he passed away on November 27, 2017 in Las Vegas, NV.  He passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family members following a short illness.  Gene was born in Bay City, MI, and was a graduate of Bay City Handy High School.  He retired as a beer truck driver from the former Muehlenbeck Distributing in Saginaw.  He was an avid golfer, Detroit Red Wings fan and long time junior hockey and high school coach, as he was the head coach of Saginaw Heritage High School for 15 years.  Gene is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth, daughter Jill (Bill) VanDriessche of Tawas City, MI, sons Dan (Kim) of Cary, IL and Todd (Beth) Wailuku, HI and son Chris (Dana) Carelli of Milan, MI, two special "adopted" daughters Ashley Vargo of Saginaw and Amie Marshall of Flagstaff, AZ.  Gene was predeceased by his parents Hoawrd Ayotte and Dorothy Glaza.

Gene, I find it hard to believe you crossed over before me.  I was stung by the news, as I recall many laughs and good times rolling around the drive-ins, and loving on your 58 Impala.  I am praying for your family with the hopes they realize just how good a man you were, and how you touched so many with your personality and kindness.  Rest easy buddy.  Heaven has a top notch goalie now. Watch the five hole.

I remember Gene as always smiling, always joking around, always helpful, and a really good friend.  We shared a lot of laughs together.  My sincere sympathy to his family for their loss.  A great loss to everyone who knew Gene. 😥
