Jonathan L. Schmidt passed away in Laredo, TX formerly from Kawkawlin, MI on September 24, 2009, age 64 years.   He was born on February 14, 1945 in East Orange, NJ to Adam and Beatrice (Van Sant) Schmidt.  Jon graduated from T.L. Handy High School and was a veteran of the VietNam war serving in the Army as a Sgt. in the 173 Airborne Borage and employed as a private pilot for IBC.

He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother to his family, his wife, Cyndi (Rick) Schmidt, two children, Zachary R. Schmidt and Tammie L. Schmidt; a grandson, Justin W. Schmidt, his mother, Beatrice B. Schmidt, two brothers, David A. and Lauri Schmidt and Timothy H. Schmidt and a sister, Rebecca Blackburn and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Adam J. Schmidt.  Funeral services were held on October 2, 2009 from Rivertown Funeral Chapel with Pastor Carol Blair-Bouse presiding with burial in Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
