Karen Murphy-Vedrode passed away June 3, 2005 at Lower Keys Medical Center.  Karen was a resident of the Keys for more than 14 years.  She had a Master's in Psychology, specializing in substance abuse.  She worked with adults and teens for more than 20 years before becoming a local entrepreneur, owning and renting an art supply and frame store.  Her most recent accomplishment was working at Action Keys Realty.

Karen was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her husband of 23 years, Joseph, her four children, Kim, David, Joey, Kristi, four grandchildren, Davey, Kyle, Kendall and Konner.  A memorial service was held at Dean-Lopez Funeral Home, Key West, FL.
