Pharen T. Bowen, Jr., passed away April 15, 2003 at MidMichigan Medical Center, Midland, age 57 years.  He was born to the late Pharen and Geraldine (Beane) Bowen May 11, 1945 in Bay City, MI and had resided in this area all his life.  He worked for Dow Chemical Company, Midland, retiring in January 2001 after 37 years of service.  He was a member of Bay County Conservation Sportsmans Club, loved to hunt and fish and was an avid black powder enthusiast.  On July 9, 1977 he married Helen L. Young.  She survives him as well as four children, Anne M. (Brian) Miller, Barre, MA, Arthur T. Bowen, Sean T. (Dusty) Bowen, all of Bay City; Rachel S. Bowen, Auburn; two granddaughters, Sharra and Melissa Miller; one grandson, Hendrix T. Bowen, due in June; one sister, Linda (Bob) Norris, Midland and one sister-in-law, Cindy Bowen, Bay City.  He was also predeceased by one brother, Richard.  Funeral services took place April 19, 2003 at the Auburn United Methodist Church with Rev. Lawson D. Crane officiating.  Private family burial took place at Pine Grove Cemetery, Auburn.
